Town Without Pity

In 2008 I was asked to make a piece for an art exhibition in Vancouver. The curator was Jim Ramsay who had asked a handful of his friends to contribute to make an art show. He wanted us to make small sculptures or models that went with the theme: Town Without Pity.

I struggled a bit at first, trying to come up with an idea that was doable regarding time, shipment and size. But in the end I came up with a playground, a very abandoned and run down playground. I wanted to describe a place that once was happy and a center for activities, and what was become a dangerous place nobody would even touch. Forgotten and disgusting.

The exhibition was a success, and I wish I could’ve been there for the opening. But it was a lot of fun being a part of it.
